Since the prospects of a new deck being built at our house anytime soon seem dim - which is a whole other open letter. (Deck contractors, if you don't carry a certain product, or prefer not to work with it, that is totally fine. But don't tell me that is against code in our city, or that the product is on the brink of being recalled, because, guess what, I have access to the codes and recall information too. It is called Google and the telephone.)
I have decided to rededicate myself to outdoor furnishings. I have all but given up on finding a 50s era wrought iron dining table and chair to match these, which are vintage with new cushions.
For quite some time, I have been enamored of these chairs from Sundance. But they are expensive and I have seen them featured in two different magazine just this month. And I wasn't sure how hot metal chairs would get for our tushies. So I had the brainstorm to use these chairs, from Room and Board, which seem to be the same chair that I originally saw at Design Within Reach, for about half the price. And I would use an old table, preferable painted white. I was first tempted by pink, because I love pink and the new Dash and Albert Rug I ordered has a pink stripe. I thought that might be a little to Yvestown-esque, even though I am pretty sure no one in my real life has ever seen her blog. So I decided on blue.
And I made some pink gingham napkins and drank an Izzi with a cool polka dot straw from Target and all was good with the world.

estate sales? flea markets? that's where I got my wrought iron. Too bad we aren't closer, we could scour together.

I have made it my life's goal to be more Yvestown-esque, so thank you for mentioning the pink rugs.
I love, love this chair.
