I am also looking for the perfect wooden nativity. We never had one growing up. I adopted the vintage cardboard I found in my grandma's basement. I don't remember her ever sitting it out, but it is so darn sweet, I love it.
But it is cardboard and small people are not allowed to touch it. I want a real, old fashioned, not creepy, not fragile, not Precious Moments nativity that we can sit out and move around the house and the big one and the small one can have sweet memories of it and some day fight over who get to take it to their house.
