I am pretty sure my, and probably many people's grandma's had a blanket similar to this Garnet Hill one on the back of their couch. My sister emailed and asked if I had seen it? Um, yes, I have been coveting it for weeks.
My grandma's had more black in it. Where is it? Who knows. I didn't appreciate all her old stuff nearly enough, and even now, fifteen years after her auction, I think of things she had and wish I thought to keep it. Little ivory see no evil, hear no evil, monkies that sat on her piano. I have the piano, but how much would I love those monkeys. A paint by number horse painted by my dad. I see the same painting at vintage stores all over and I should probably just buy one of those, but I would secretly always wish it was the one painted by him. Old, chipped, one yellow and one green Fiestaware salt and pepper shakers, or even better Lustreware hugging bear ones. These are the things I think about. You just know that someone at Anthropologie is working on a version of those bears right now.
And when I scooted over to the Anthropologie homepage to find the link above, I saw that they are featuring fabric cone trees, very much like the ones made by Little Birds. I am determined to wait until she provides a pattern, or figure them out myself.
I have the same feelings of regret about things of my grandmother's that we didn't hold onto after her death.
And I'm loving that blanket, too!

I love that little birds site.. thanks for the "hook up."
We have an afghan Don's Grandma made for us, diagonal pattern with khaki, brown and yellow. Love it, 'cause she made it.
Love the bibs too, very sweet!
