Decorating sense

I am feeling a bit discouraged about the state of decorating around here.  Lots to do and not much getting accomplished.  I have a few friends who are so amazingly talented, that they are on a second or even third round of design.  I haven't even finished round one. 

Here are a few things around here that are making me feel happy:

   

Finding this lamp for $17.  Just after that, I saw a very similar one in the new Mary Engelbreit magazine.  It had the sweetest tattered silk floral shade with ruffles.  I am all about ruffles on a lamp shade.

Getting this mint condition colbalt blue Fiestaware relish tray for Christmas.  My dad finds these for me because I can't afford them anymore.

 

Noticing how the little pink ruffle of the sheet matches the pink in the quilt square on the pillow.  I knew there was a reason I bought these ridiculously expensive sheets for the little ones room.

Discovering that there was a "Jill came tumbling after" picture to match the "going up the hill" picture.

Finally admitting to myself that I really do want a robin's egg blue bathroom.

I have a robin egg's blue bathroom; you will love it. It is the only paint color in the house that is for ME.
and I have (and still have somewhere in a box) a light switch cover that matches those plaques you have. How fun is that?
