I had one set of fall decorations on our new family cabinets, but it looked too messy. So I used blue paint left over from when I repainted the front door
to paint two old metal baskets I had in the basement. There is new door hardware on the front door too. We went on the local remodelers home tour last weekend and saw a very similar house to ours. Their new trim was nearly exactly the same as our new trim. It must be the standard make-the-1984-house-look-nicer trim at the lumberyard. It was pretty funny to see how far that family had gotten too. They still had on old metal door with scratched up brass hardward leading to their garage as well. So a new back door has been added to my list.
I use vintage baskets like this in my booth at craft shows, but these two had a few broken wires, so I didn't want them to damage any of my stuff, or poke a potential customer! I got impatient waiting for the paint to dry, so a few of the pumpkins may end up a little blue. There are some glitter pumkins in there, and I've also been tucking all the weird squash and gourds we have been getting from the CSA in there too. I have one of those really great black glitter Wendy Addison "boo" garlands
and I am trying to figure out how to hang it without actually putting nails into my beautiful new mantle?
