The dad and I both have really fond memories of motorhome trips in our childhood. My family trip was to California (from Minnesota) and included Disneyland and the Grand Canyon. I remember dancing in the aisle to the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, which probably would have made it 1977 or 1978 and I would have been eight years old.
As a result, I have agreed to go on an RV trip this summer with our family. I hesitate, because as an adult, I hate camping, and campgrounds, and bugs, and being dirty.... I tried to convince the dad that we could drive in the RV and then sleep in a hotel, but apparently, this goes against the essential nature of an RV trip. But we are doing this for the kids. Childhood memories. Exploring the United States. Living simply.
My mother has recently revealed to me that she HATED the motortrip I remember so fondly. Great.
To ease myself into the trip, I purchased this print on Etsy from Leah Giberson.
It will go in our family room to replace the winter calligraphy print from HelloHandmade because once it hits 70 degrees and you are on your way on out to the deck, it seems weird to walk past a print that says "let it snow..."
oh how fun!
(any chance you are headed east or south a bit? :))
