Thanks so much for all the nice notes about the article about our house in MetroMag this month. It has always been a little wish of mine to have our house in a magazine. I was first contacted by the editor, Liz Potasek, after our guest bathroom was on Apartment Therapy last fall, wanting to know if I would be interested in having our house in the magazine. Um yes, please.
There wasn't a list of sources in the magazine and the photo isn't online, thankfully, since I look like Mrs. Potatohead. However, I have been getting emails asking where I got things. The above photo is approximately where the photo was taken, although I've since moved the chair to where the couch is and changed the table. The one in the magazine is vintage and we used to have it on our deck.
The cupboard is from Hunt and Gather with knobs from Anthropologie. Special thanks to my friend Nyc, who helped me haul it home in her flatbed trailer. The canvas bin is from Steel Canvas. The stuff inside and on top is all vintage or collected and the windsock on the front was made by one of my kids. The pictures on the wall are photographs of my kids, and a photograph of the restaurant the dad and I had our first date at. The "P" is from a movie marquee and the "All You Need is Love" print is from Studio Mela. She is local. We have a couple of her other prints upstairs.
The lamp is from Pier One a few years ago. The blue pillows are handmade. The gold striped one is from Room and Board and the black and white pattern one is from Ikea. The couch slipcover was designed by me and made by the Slipcover Man.
Thanks again for being excited for us. Let me know if you would like to know anything else.
